Hey, my name is Michaela. I have been volunteering at the centre since 2003, as well as helping to care for the animals; I have also done some fundraising for the centre.

You can see the fundraising events I have got coming up in my corner. If you have any ideas that I could try that may assist me in my fundraising activities, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I have seen first hand the wonderful work that the centre and its team of volunteers do. The people that I have worked there with over the years and the animals that I have helped care for have inspired me to further the centres work in any way that I can so that more animals can be helped.

I understand that raising money for the centre is one of the most valuable ways in which I can help because not only does it help to fund the centre’s operation, it also raises much needed public awareness.

I gain great satisfaction from helping in the way that I do because I feel like I am making a difference to a worthwhile cause. You can too, by joining in one of my fundraising events or arranging your own. You could adopt an animal at the centre and contribute towards its food, bedding and shelter or simply make a donation online.

There are other ways you can help too; make your garden more ‘wildlife friendly’ or visit our top tips section. If you are able to spare some time, maybe you could volunteer at the centre (all applicants will be subject to an interview process and must be aged 16 or over).
